Lubbock, Texas (January 30, 2010) — The JBU women’s basketball team gave up a 75-61 decision to No. 20 Lubbock Christian (Texas) on Saturday afternoon. The loss extends the ladies losing streak to seven games.

Now 7-15 overall, the Lady Golden Eagles drop to 11th in the Sooner Athletic Conference standings with a 3-11 conference record.

Freshman Jessica Berlin scored 18 points in the losing effort, while junior Katie Mangels added 16. The two combined for six of JBU’s seven three point makes on the day.

For LCU (14-6, 9-5), Whitney Wehmeyer led the way with 19 points. Renee Wilson and Brittany Hampton both added 12.

Overall, the ladies shot 46% from the floor but couldn’t contain a hot shooting LCU team that knocked down 65% of their tries.

Things won’t get any easier for the ladies down the stretch as they return home to face No. 7 Oklahoma City on Thursday at 6 p.m.
