Families Journey to JBU for Annual Weekend
Siloam Springs, Ark. (February 15, 2010) — Parents and siblings of students will have the opportunity to experience John Brown University during the annual Family Weekend, Feb. 19-20.
The activities begin Friday with a chapel service featuring President Chip Pollard and the opportunity to see firsthand what a JBU class is like.
A comedy theater presentation of “Leaving Iowa” will be presented at 3 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday in Jones Recital Hall. “The play is a postcard to anyone who has ever found himself or herself driving alone on a road, revisiting fond memories of his or her youth.” Call 479-524-7382 to reserve tickets.
Saturday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. parents are invited to an open house at the Pollard’s house. Families can also eat a special brunch from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Kresge Dining Hall.
Saturday is sports-filled with a rugby match at 11 a.m., a women’s basketball game at 1 p.m., and a men’s basketball game at 3 p.m.
The weekend will culminate with the highly anticipated student Talent and Variety Show on Saturday night. Identical performances are at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tickets can be purchased for $1 on campus.
