JBU's CARE Clinic Offers New Counseling Opportunities

Siloam Springs, Ark. (February 22, 2010) — The John Brown University CARE Clinics are expanding their system of care by partnering with First Baptist Church of Springdale and The Church at Pinnacle Hills. Counseling services will now be offered on each of these church campuses.

“What a great opportunity for the church to work in partnership with a highly respected university as we endeavor to minister to Northwest Arkansas and the surrounding communities. We are grateful for everyone on this team and look forward to a successful partnership,” said Andy Wilson, executive leader of the ministry and operations of First Baptist Church, Springdale and The Church at Pinnacle Hills.

Counseling services offered include individual, pre-marital, marital, family, child/adolescent and play therapy. Counselors include supervised counseling interns in John Brown University’s graduate counseling program, licensed graduate counseling faculty, and other counselors from the community. All faculty and community counselors are licensed by the State of Arkansas.

“The new partnership will allow us to minister to more individuals and families in Northwest Arkansas who don’t have access to affordable counseling services,” said Dr. Ryan Martin, CARE Clinic executive director. “This will also be a great opportunity for our students who want experience providing counseling services in a church setting.”

All referrals will be directed to the Siloam Springs CARE Clinic for scheduling – (479) 524-7300. Sessions will initially be offered two to three days per week at each site, and both daytime and evening sessions will be available.
