Siloam Springs, Ark. (February 28, 2010) — The JBU men’s basketball defeated Northwestern Okla. State on Saturday evening 75-50 securing the fifth seed in the Sooner Athletic Conference tournament next week. The men said farewell to senior Davaughn Jackson as this was his final home game in the blue and gold. JBU also bid farewell to Murray Sells Gymnasium.

Jackson led the way for the Eagles with 13 points and 10 boards. Junior Andrius Mikutis added 12.

Brandon Dixon led NWOSU (11-18, 6-16) with 20 points and seven rebounds.

JBU fell behind 4-2 in the opening minutes and took the 6-4 lead with 17:00 left in the first half. From here, JBU never relinquished their lead. The Golden Eagles went ahead by 32 at one point before claiming the 25 point win.

JBU now looks ahead to fourth seed Oklahoma Christian on Thursday. Game times will be released on Sunday afternoon.
