Golf closes out year with ninth place finish

Siloam Springs, Ark. (April 21, 2010) — The JBU men’s golf team finished 9th out of 10 teams during the two day Sooner Athletic Conference Championships at the at Dornick Hills Golf & Country Club in Ardmore, Okla. The Golden Eagles shot 313-317-310–940 on the par-70, 6,586 yard course.

Oklahoma City University, ranked No. 1 in the NAIA, shot 275-274-285–834 to take its 16th SAC title. Oklahoma Christian, Southern Nazarene and Wayland Baptist each tied for second place. Second-ranked Oklahoma Christian carded 281-280-289–850, eighth-ranked Southern Nazarene turned in a 284-273-293–850 and 13th-ranked Wayland Baptist had a 289-278-283–850.

OCU’s Michael Palmer took the individual title after shooting 203 (-7). WBU’s Bradley Sinnitt placed second with a 208 (-2), and there was a three-way tie for third between SNU’s Brandon Blevins, and OC’s Oscar Stark and Axel Ochoa after they each shot 209 (-1).

Individually for JBU, Jeff Hobble placed 35th after shooting 230. Taylor Mullings came in 43rd with a 235. West Loveland tied for 44th with a 236, and Matt Brooker and Nathan Sudheimer placed 47th and 53rd after shooting 242 and 253 respectively.
