Siloam Springs, Ark. (May 7, 2010) — Tyler Hysell, a 6-6 forward from Plano East High School in Plano, Texas, has signed a national letter of intent to play men’s basketball for JBU next year.

“Tyler is a terrific kid,” said Plano East high school coach Doug Bleadorn. “We hate to see him move on, but we are excited that he’ll be moving on to bigger and better things.”

Hysell was selected First Team All-District as a junior and Second Team All-District as a senior after averaging 10.7 ppg and 5.7 rpg during his final year. He also received the team’s Most Valuable Player Award after both seasons.

“We’re excited Tyler has chosen our program,” said JBU head men’s basketball coach Clark Sheehy. “He comes from an excellent program at Plano East, and we know he’s a high character person that will be a great fit to the JBU community.”
