Siloam Springs, Ark. (May 7, 2010) — Barry McCrary, a 6-5 wing from Ranchview High School in Irving, Texas, has signed a national letter of intent to play men’s basketball for John Brown University in the fall.

“This young man will be able to do everything,” said Ranchview coach Dee Boyd. “He can pass, rebound, shoot, and defend, and he’s a great leader on and off the floor.”

For the past two seasons, McCrary has been selected to the All-District and All-Region Teams. He also received his team’s Defensive Player of the Year award.

In 27 games this year, McCrary averaged 11.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game.

“Barry will be a strong addition to our team both on and off the court,” said JBU head coach Clark Sheehy. “He’s a versatile player that will be able to play multiple roles on the court and he’s a great person that will fit in well at JBU.”
