Arvest Bank Gives $25k to JBU for Arena Construction
Siloam Springs, Ark. (June 15, 2010) — Arvest Bank of Siloam Springs has donated a $25,000 gift to John Brown University for the construction of the Bill George Arena.
"We are excited to be able to partner up with JBU and help with the new arena,” said Lisa Ray, president/CEO Arvest Siloam Springs. “The Bill George Arena will be a great asset for JBU and the Siloam Springs community."
“We are thankful for this generous gift and our long-standing relationship with Arvest Bank,” said Jim Krall, vice president for university advancement. “Arvest is a faithful supporter of JBU and our community.” The 38,000 square-foot facility will provide much needed athletic and gathering space for the university. Currently JBU hosts athletic events in the nearly 50-year-old Murray Sells Athletic Center, which seats less than 1,000 people. The new arena will provide needed space for larger gatherings such as graduation and special events, as well as occasionally serving as a venue for larger chapel services. The arena is expected to be finished by the fall of 2010.
