Siloam Springs, Ark. (August 4, 2010) — The JBU men’s basketball program hosted the First Annual Golden Eagle Golf Cup over the weekend at the Stonebridge Meadows Golf Club in Fayetteville. The event, which was in the format of a two-man scramble, included current and former players and coaches and other friends of the program.
“This was a fun time for us to get together for some ‘friendly’ competition before the grind of the season,” said head men’s basketball coach Clark Sheehy. “We hope to make this a yearly event and want to see even more people get involved in the future.”
The team of P.D. Rakestraw and Tony Nichols claimed the top spot after shooting 4-under on the par 72, 7,150 yard course.
The Golden Eagles will tip off the 2010-2011 season at home on Thursday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. against Hillsdale Baptist (Okla.) in the annual Toilet Paper Game. A full schedule will be released online at www.jbu.edu/basketball in the upcoming weeks.
