JBU Signs Kansas Soccer Player

Siloam Springs, Ark (March 3, 2003) — Coach Bob Gustavson announced that Stephen Granberry of Andover, Kansas signed a letter of intent to attend John Brown University and participate on the men’s soccer team. Granberry played on the 2002 State Championship team while attending Trinity Academy in Wichita. He was named to the 2001 and 2002 All-Region team and was 2nd team All-State in 2001 and 2002. Stephen has also played club soccer for the Wichita Tornado. Granberry earned several athletic and academic honors during his high school career. Among the honors are Most Inspirational, Captain of the team, and Headmaster’s Honor Roll for 4 years. Commenting on the signing of Stephen, Coach Gustavson said, “Stephen is a gifted athlete excelling not only on the field, but also in the classroom and other areas of his life. He has been involved in many leadership roles throughout high school. I expect he will continue to be a leader on the JBU campus. We are fortunate to have such a quality individual join our program. It is our hope that Stephen will make an immediate contribution to our talented corps of defenders.” Stephen, planning to major in the Pre-Med field in college, is the son of George and Vicki Granberry of Andover.
