JBU MUSIC DEPARTMENT TO HOLD HONORS RECITAL

Siloam Springs, Ark (April 14, 1998) — The Music Department of John Brown University invites you to our first annual "Honors Recital" to be presented in Jones Recital Hall, in the Cathedral of the Ozarks on Sunday, April 26, at 3 p.m.

Performers were chosen by audition before a faculty board. The program will include: * Pianist Lisa Cooper, freshman, performing Rachmaninoff's Prelude in D minor, * Melani Courts, junior mezzo soprano, singing Vivaldi's Stabat Mater; * Pianist Anna Greco, senior, performing Ruralia Hungarica #4 by Dohnanyi; * Soprano Raquel Whisler, senior, performing Blute Nur from Bach's St. Mattew Passion; * Tami Leadabrand, senior, performing Gershwin's Preludes for Piano, * Soprano Amy Wood, senior, performing Glitter and be Gay from Bernstein's Candide.

The students will be assisted by Mrs. Nancy Netherton, Dr. Roger Hatlestad and Ms. Debbie Lind and are taught by Dr. Linda Beckman, Mrs. Cindy Ensley and Mr. Paul Smith.

The recital is free and a reception honoring the students will follow the program.
