Siloam Springs, Ark. (September 23, 2010) — After a tough road loss on Tuesday night, the JBU women’s volleyball team returned home to Bill George Arena on Thursday night ready for a fight. The ladies were pushed to the brink but maintained their cool and came away with a 3-2 (20-25, 25-16, 19-25, 25-19, 15-9) win over the Stars of Oklahoma City.

OCU (9-5, 2-1) took the first set after trading blows throughout most of the set. JBU regrouped in the second, and easily took the win before falling in the third. Unlike Tuesday night’s matchup, the ladies took a commanding hold of the fourth set and never looked back going on to claim the match with a win in the fifth.

Sophomore Erin Didier led the offensive attack with 18 kills while freshman Staci Williamson and senior Amber Wilson each had 10. Senior setter Alyssa Hanson tallied 40 assists while also cleaning up on defense with 11 digs. Junior Allie Rankin also had a strong night at the net with six blocks.

With the win, the ladies improve to 10-7 overall and 2-1 in the SAC. They will be off for the next few days but return to action at Oklahoma Wesleyan next Tuesday, September 28 at 7 p.m. in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
