Freshman Luke Theimer scored JBU's first goal on Saturday afternoon. JBU beat Wayland Baptist 2-0.

Siloam Springs, Ark. (October 10, 2010) — The JBU men’s soccer team improved to 7-4 overall and 2-1 in the SAC after defeating Wayland Baptist (Texas) 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Things started off slowly, but the Eagles gained momentum just before half after freshman Luke Theimer scored off the assist from senior Juan Iraola.

In the second period, Iraola was on the receiving end of an assist and put it away for the 2-0 finisher. Freshman Ramon Martinez got credit for the assist.

JBU dominated the contest, outshooting WBU (3-7) 17-2.

Freshman Pablo Garcia earned the shutout for JBU.

JBU is back in action on Tuesday when they face Oklahoma City at 3 p.m. on Alumni Field.
