Siloam Springs, Ark (March 10, 1998) — National radio talk show host and popular film critic Michael Medved will be the featured speaker at 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31 at John Brown University's Cathedral of the Ozarks. He will present "Hollywood's Three Big Lies" in the morning chapel service and will give a lecture titled "Hollywood Values vs. Religious Values" in the evening, after which there will be a reception and book signing in the university's Dye Lounge. All events are free and open to the public.
Medved is the host of a daily radio talk show that is broadcast nationally out of Seattle, Wash. He is the chief film critic for the New York Post and has co-hosted "Sneak Previews," a weekly half-hour movie review show on PBS, for the past 12 years.
Medved is also an acclaimed author. He has penned seven non-fiction books, including "Hollywood vs. America," a controversial and influential indictment of the entertainment industry. In 1993, England's prestigious Manchester Guardian wrote: "Just occasionally, a book seems to change the way the world thinks. Michael Medved's 'Hollywood vs. America' is such a book."
Medved's columns on media and society have been published in hundreds of periodicals, including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and the Washington Post. He has appeared on all major television talk shows, including Oprah Winfrey, Larry King, David Letterman, and Nightline; and he is a frequent substitute host for Rush Limbaugh on his show. Medved has also been featured in the Focus on the Family magazine and radio program.
After graduating with honors from Yale, Medved attended Yale Law School, where his classmates included Bill and Hillary Clinton.
Today, Medved resides in the Seattle area where he lives with his wife, psychologist and best-selling author Dr. Diane Medved, and their three young children.
