Men's soccer falls in semis

Shawnee, Okla. (November 8, 2010) — The JBU men’s soccer team gave a valiant effort during the SAC semifinals on Monday afternoon, but it wasn’t enough as No. 15 Oklahoma Baptist defeated JBU 1-0 in overtime to end the Golden Eagles' season at 11-8-1.

OBU scored the game winner 34 seconds into the overtime period when JBU’s keeper Pablo Garcia tried to clear a ball, but OBU’s Tito Silva blocked it to Victor Costa who scored to give the Bison the win.

JBU was outshot 27-7 on the day with a 7-6 shots on goal advantage in favor of the Bison.

Garcia had six saves for JBU.

The Bison now move on to the tournament championship.
