Men hold off Warriors

Muskogee, Okla. (November 16, 2010) — The 24th ranked JBU men’s basketball team defeated Bacone (Okla.) 71-60 in Muskogee, Oklahoma on Tuesday night to remain perfect at 7-0 on the season.

Adrian Miller led the Eagles with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Coleson Rakestraw added 15 points, and Ryland Allen had 13.

For BC (1-2), Jeff Ayisire had 13 points and Chad Tyler added 12.

JBU had a 15 point, 41-26, lead at halftime and went ahead by as many as 18 before the Warriors made a run that cut it to six, 61-56, with 4:30 remaining in the game. But JBU responded with a few clutch baskets that helped the Eagles hold off the Warrior attack.

For the game, JBU shot 41% while limiting BC to 34%. JBU also dominated the glass by outrebounding Bacone 46-36.

The men will face their final non-conference opponent on Saturday when they travel to Texas to face Dallas Christian for a 7 p.m. bout.
