PIANIST ROSILEE WALKER TO PERFORM AT JBU

Siloam Springs, Ark (February 18, 1998) — Dr. Rosilee Walker, classical pianist, will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, in Jones Recital Hall at John Brown University. Sponsored by the Arkansas Arts Council and JBU, the concert is free and open to the public.

As a solo recitalist, Walker performs extensively throughout Arkansas as a member of the Arts on Tour Program. She has appeared twice as a guest recitalist at the Arkansas Governor's Mansion, and in December of 1995 appeared as guest pianist at the White House.

Walker will be performing "Jardins sous la pluie" (Gardens in the Rain) by Claude Debussy, "Sonata in D Minor Op. 31 No.2" by Ludwig van Beethoven, "Variations on a Theme by Paganini" by Johannes Brahms, and "Mephisto Waltz" by Franz Liszt among other selections.

Walker is the director of keyboard activities at Westark Community College in Fort Smith, Ark. She holds a bachelor of music degree from Baylor University as well as a master of music degree and a doctor of musical arts degree in piano performance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music.
