Siloam Springs, Ark. (January 15, 2011) — The JBU men’s basketball team suffered an 81-65 loss to Lubbock Christian (Texas) on Saturday afternoon dropping them to 14-4 overall and 6-4 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.

LCU improves to 11-5 overall and 6-4 in the SAC.

EJ McWoods had 15 points, four rebounds, and four assists in the losing effort for the Golden Eagles.  Andy Garcia added 12 points and five rebounds.

For LCU, Matt Read led four in double-digit with 17 points.  Al Duvall completed the day with 16.

The Chaps used 51 percent (14-for-27) shooting from the field and a perfect 8-of-8 from the charity stripe to take a 42-27 lead into the locker rooms. 

In the second half, LCU continued to control momentum and never saw their lead fall below 12 points.  With 3:39 left in the game, Duvall gave the Chaps their largest lead of the night at 75-52 after making 1-of-2 from the foul line.  JBU managed to make it a 16 point game after a three from Ryland Allen with 1:33 left, but it was too little too late.

For the game, JBU shot 44 percent (22-of-50), while giving up 53.2 percent (25-of-47) to LCU.  The Chaps also shot a blistering 91.7 percent 22-of-24 from the charity stripe.  JBU, meanwhile, only hit 69.6 percent (16-of-23) of their foul shot attempts.

JBU returns to action on Thursday when they travel to Bethany, Okla. to face 14th ranked Southern Nazarene at 8 p.m.
