Oklahoma City (January 29, 2011) — The JBU women suffered a second huge loss last week after falling to Oklahoma Christian 61-88 on Saturday night in Oklahoma City.

The loss drops JBU to 16-6 overall and 10-4 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.  OC, meanwhile, improved to 10-12 and 4-10.

Katie Mangels and Chelsea Garrison both had 13 in the losing effort.  And for OC, three players finished in double digits led by Ayanna Jackson and Katy Clift with 19 each, and Katy Osteen added 18.

JBU never really got their offense clicking and struggled to put the ball in the hole the entire night.  After an 8-for-29 (27.6%) shooting performance in first half, which included going 0-of-10 from long distance, JBU found themselves down 22-40 at the half.

In the second half, JBU improved their offensive effort but couldn’t find a way to stop OC’s trio.

For the game, OC shot an impressive 51.6 percent (33-of-64) from the floor including 63.2 percent (12-of-19) from long range.  JBU, meanwhile, shot 32.4 percent (22-of-68) for the game.

JBU returns home on Thursday to take on St. Gregory’s (Okla.) at 6 p.m. in Bill George Arena.
