Siloam Springs, Ark. (February 25, 2011) - The JBU men’s basketball team came away with a decisive 77-67 victory over Lubbock Christian (Texas) on Thursday night in the Rip Griffin Center.
The win improves JBU to 22-7 overall and 14-7 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. LCU, meanwhile, drops to 17-10 overall and 12-9 in the SAC.
Four JBU players finished in double figures led by Adrian Miller and Sam Bartlett with 16 each. E.J. McWoods added 13. And Andrius Mikutis finished with 11.
LCU also had four players reach the double digit mark. Tyler Kennedy had 15. Kenny Hewitt and Clay Roberts both finished with 13. And Matt Read tossed in 12.
JBU quickly took control of the game in the first half and never looked back. Up 35-18 at halftime, JBU was able to hit the cruise control for most of the second half. LCU, however, tried to make a late run, which came up empty.
JBU finished the day hitting 47.9 percent (23-48) from the floor, while holding LCU to 33.3 percent (20-60). JBU also pounded the boards and took a 41-27 advantage on the glass.
The Golden Eagles look to extend their win streak to seven when they face Wayland Baptist (Texas) on Saturday at 4 p.m.
