Men’s Basketball Adds Final Two
Siloam Springs, Ark. (May 13, 2011) — JBU men’s basketball has announced the names of their final two additions for the 2011-2012 season. Colton Foushee and Max Hopfgartner have signed letters of intent to play basketball at JBU next year.
Foushee, a 6-8 post from Chapel Hill, N.C., transfers in after spending his sophomore season at Jacksonville (Texas). At Jacksonville, Foushee averaged five points per game, while shooting 72% from the floor. He helped the Jaguars to a 23-8 finish.
“We are excited about adding Colton to our program,” said head men’s basketball coach Clark Sheehy. “He comes from Jacksonville College where his team had a very successful year, and we are looking forward to adding his length and athleticism.”
Hopfgartner, a 6-9 forward from Fuerstenbrunn, Austria, a small Austrian-German border town, comes to JBU after spending a season at Gilbert (Iowa) High School. During his senior year, Hopfgartner led the Tigers in scoring with 15.5 points per game, while helping them make a deep run in the playoffs.
“At 6-9, Max gives us length and we love his skill set,” added Sheehy. “He comes from a solid program at Gilbert High school in Iowa and we are looking forward to him joining us in the fall.”
Foushee plans to major in exercise studies, and Hopfgartner plans to pursue a degree in renewable energy.
