Basketball Trades in Sneakers for Clubs
Siloam Springs, Ark. (August 1, 2011) — The JBU men’s basketball program hosted the Second Annual Golden Eagle Golf Cup over the weekend at the Stonebridge Meadows Golf Club in Fayetteville.
The event, which was in the format of a two-man scramble, included current and former players and coaches and other friends of the program.
“The golf tournament had twice the number of golfers as last year, and the dinner on Friday night was a fun event,” said head men’s basketball coach Clark Sheehy. “Overall, it was a great time, and it’s a great time to be a Golden Eagle.”
The team of Shane Catron and Trent Stiles claimed the top spot after shooting 7-under on the par 72, 7,150 yard course.
Donnie Bunker won the longest drive competition for his shot off the second tee, and David Ray won the closest to the pin contest on the 13th hole.
