Cross Country competes in UALR Invitational

John Brown University's Cross Country teams competed in the University of Arkansas Little Rock Invitational Friday afternoon.

For the men's team, freshman Marcos Gutierrez finished first for JBU in the 8K run and 21st overall out of 98 runners with a time of 26:59:92. Freshman Sare Goitom finished second for JBU and 26th overall with a time of 27:10:50, and sophomore Tekste Gebrelasse directly followed him with a time of 27:10:71, placing 27th overall and finishing third for JBU.

On the women's team, freshman Kari Miller finished first for JBU in the 5K run and 27th overall out of 86 runners with a time of 20:11:11. Sophomores Valerie Kliewer and Melissa Roth, placed second and third respectively for JBU, and finished 29th and 30th overall with times of 20:12:39 and 20:19:51.

Cross country will back in action in the 5K/8K Oklahoma Baptist Bison Invitational in Shawnee, Okla. on Friday, October 7.
