Freshman forward Elizabeth High scored JBU's lone goal against Lyon College Saturday afternoon

John Brown University women’s soccer team lost 3-1 against Lyon College (Ark.) Saturday afternoon on the road bringing their record to 2-3-1.

Lyon’s defender Cethlinn Cunningham scored first in the game at the 27:52 mark. To tie the game, JBU’s freshman forward Elizabeth High found the back of the net in the last three minutes of the first half.

In the second half, Lyon’s forward Jordan Aliviado scored twice to put it away at the 51:49 and 60:48 marks.

Lyon College outshot JBU 9-4 with a 5-1 shot on goal advantage. JBU’s junior goalkeeper Faith Thurman made a total of two saves, both in the second half.

The Lady Eagles play next at home against Lubbock Christian on Thursday, September 29, at 2:00 p.m. to begin their conference season.
