Branson, Mo. (October 12, 2011) — The JBU women’s volleyball team went 1-1 on Tuesday night after defeating Central Baptist (Ark.) 3-0 before falling to College of the Ozarks (Mo.) 1-3.

In their first match, the ladies quickly took care of CBC (25-14, 25-19, 25-8).  Offensively, junior Erin Didier led the team with 12 kills followed by freshman Courtney Marshall and senior Allie Rankin with seven each.  Sophomore Kailey Bain totaled 21 assists, and senior Megan Tabor had two aces.

On the defensive side, freshman Becca Young tallied 17 digs and sophomore Erin McIlroy added four blocks.

The ladies didn’t fare as well in their second match against Ozarks.  C of O jumped out to an early lead in the first set, and JBU was never able to respond.  In the second set, however, the Lady Eagles bounced back to claim a 28-26 win before falling in the final two sets 18-25 and 23-25.

Rankin picked up 15 kills followed by Didier with 13.  Bain had 28 assists and junior Aubrey Adams added 20.  Defensively, senior Sarah Jordan picked up 29 digs.

The women now sit at 14-11 overall and look improve on that on Thursday night at 7 p.m. when they face conference foe Mid-America Christian (Okla.) in Bill George Arena.
