Siloam Springs, Ark. (November 1, 2011) — The JBU women’s soccer team closed out their regular season with a 1-0 double overtime victor over Rogers State (Okla.) on Tuesday afternoon.

The win improves the ladies to 8-8-1 overall and 6-5 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.  RSU, meanwhile, drops to 9-6-3 overall and 6-4-1 in the SAC.

The deciding goal came with under a minute left in the second overtime period, when freshman Casey O’Brien dribbled through the defense before aiming a shot at the far post that skirted past the keeper.

However, despite out shooting RSU 13-5, JBU only managed three shots on goal compared to four from RSU.

Junior keeper Faith Thurman picked up four saves in the win.

JBU now awaits the release of the conference tournament bracket to find out who they will face in the first round of the SAC tournament beginning on Saturday.
