Siloam Springs, Ark. (November 1, 2011) — The JBU men’s soccer team fell 2-1 to Rogers State (Okla.) on Tuesday afternoon dropping their record to 8-8-2 overall and 5-3-2 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.

JBU got on the board first after junior Hunter Bradford tapped in a throw in from senior Joel Thomas from the far side in the 28th minute.  The score would remain in JBU’s favor at halftime.

In the second half, however, RSU came out determined and notched their first goal after Mohammed Shaban and Grant Smith connected in the box for the equalizer.  Less than nine minutes later, RSU’s Griffin Kane took advantage of a scramble in the box and headed it in for the 2-1 RSU advantage.

JBU tried to regroup and tie the game but came up empty as time expired in RSU’s favor.

RSU (10-7-1, 5-4-1 SAC) out shot JBU 12-8 with a 3-2 shots on goal advantage.

Pablo Garcia had one save in the JBU loss.

Up next, JBU prepares to host opening round action of the SAC Conference Tournament, which begins on Friday.  The third seeded Golden Eagles face off against sixth seeded Rogers State at home on Friday at 2 p.m.
