John Brown University’s men’s basketball team fell to 11th ranked Rogers State University (Okla.) 88-66 on Tuesday night at home, ending their six-game winning streak. JBU’s record drops to 6-1 overall and 0-1 in the SAC.
Three JBU players finished in double-digits led by junior Abel Galliguez with 19 points. Junior Coleson Rakestraw finished with 13 points, and senior Andy Garcia with 11.
Kendrell Thompson led RSU (5-0, 1-0) with 15 points, followed by Justynn Hammond with 14 and A.J. Stewart with 13.
JBU shot 39.7 percent (25-of-63) from the field including 50 percent (11-of-22) from three point territory. Junior Abel Galliguez scored five of those 11 three-pointers. RSU hit 50 percent (26-of-52) from the floor and 43.5 percent (10-of-23) from long distance.
JBU loss the rebounding battle 45-30 and committed 16 turnovers while only forcing 10.
