Wichita, Kan. (November 26, 2011) — The JBU women’s basketball team picked up a non-conference win on Saturday evening after beating Friends (Kan.) 59-50 on the road in Wichita.  With the win, the ladies improve to 4-3 overall.

Sophomores Jessica Berlin and Sierra Shipley posted 12 points each to lead the Lady Eagles.  Junior Anna Parish added 10.

For Friends (4-5), Sarah Munds dropped in a game high 20 points.  Abby Fawcett added 12.

After heading into the locker room tied at 26, the Lady Eagles managed to gain some momentum in the second half and jumped out to an early lead, which they never let evaporate.

JBU shot 48.6 percent (18-37) for the game, while holding FU to 30 percent (21-70).  A huge difference maker came at the charity stripe where the Eagles hit 16-of-24 attempts compared to only 2-of-3 attempts from the Falcons.

JBU returns home on Thursday to face conference opponent Lubbock Christian (Texas) at 6 p.m.
