Eagles take down the Storm

The Golden Eagles took down No. 15 Southern Nazarene University (Okla.) Crimson Storm 75-61. This win brings JBU 18-5, 10-5 in conference.
This win ties JBU with SNU and Rogers State (Okla.) for the second seed in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
Senior Adrian Miller and junior EJ Mc Woods both hit career highs with 27 and 22 points respectively. Miller was also the highest rebounder with eight followed by fellow senior Andy Garcia with six. Miller and Mc Woods tied for highest assists with four each.
For SNU, Jon West lead the team in scoring with 15 followed by Ryan Aaron with 14 and Tyrone Lyons with 12. Lyons and Daniel White led SNU's rebounding with five each followed by West and Horace McGloster each with four.
JBU opened the game with a steal by freshman Jared Johnson leading to a basket in the paint from Miller. The Eagles then had a four minute run giving them a lead of eight before SNU battled back for a two-point lead off of a freethrow from Aaron eight minutes into the first half. JBU responded with a quick run putting them 11 points ahead of SNU. SNU managed to cut the Eagle's lead to eight before halftime.
The second half began like the first ended with SNU slowly pushing back JBU's lead, though they never managed to retake the game. Ten minutes into the game, a basket by Mc Woods in the paint followed by a three-pointer from Miller started a three minute run resulting in a 16 point lead. The Storm continued to fight, but JBU ended the game with a 14 point lead.
JBU will play on Saturday at 5 p.m. against the University of Science and Arts of Okla. on the road.
