The Golden Eagles win season's last home game against USAO

The Golden Eagles beat the University of Science and Arts of Okla. with a final score of 69-63 for their final home game of the regular season, giving JBU a record of 23-6, 15-6 in conference.
Senior Adrian Miller led the Eagles with 22 points followed by redshirt junior Abel Galliguez with 15 and senior Andy Garcia with 12. Garcia was also JBU's leading rebounder with 10 followed by Miller and junior EJ MCWoods with four each. Garcia led in assists too with four. Galliguez followed him with three assists.
For USAO, freshman Benjamin Berry was the leading scorer with 22 points followed by senior Kyle Hunt with 14 and junior Brandon Cutler with 10. Their leading rebounder was Hunt with eight followed by Berry with seven. Berry also led his team in assists with five.
JBU opened the game with a three pointer by Galliguez that started a five-point run. USAO quickly responded and the game was mostly back and forth for the rest of the half, not only in baskets but also in possesions with USAO commiting eight turnovers and JBU with seven. At the end of the half, JBU had managed to at one time lead by six points while USAO had only managed a three point lead. JBU went into the locker room three points behind.
Freshman Jared Johnson opened the second half with a basket from the paint. Johnson's basket was followed by a series of back and forth points until JBU pulled ahead 16 minutes into the game with a three point by junior Coleson Rakestraw. USAO struggled to keep up as the Eagles pulled ahead, eventually leading by eight points 10 minutes into the half when McWoods made a three point shot off of an assist from senior Thomas Galliguez. USAO then had a four minute run in which they destroyed JBU's lead, tying twice during their run. They were not able to pull ahead by more then one point though and JBU ran away with the rest of the game.
JBU and USAO both shot well with 42 percentage for the Eagles and 41 for the Drovers. USAO did have a higher three-point percentage with 27 to JBU's 19, though JBU shot better from the line with 86 to USAO's 72.
The Eagles with play their last game of the regular season on Saturday on the road against Southern Nazarene University (Okla.) at 8 p.m.
