Siloam Springs, Ark. (September 8, 2003) - The John Brown University Golden Eagle men’s soccer team went on the road for the first time this season and came away with a 3-0 win over Harding University. The Golden Eagles moved their record to 2 and 0 on the young season, while Harding drops to 0 and 3. Tulsa, Oklahoma native sophomore midfielder Daniel Fleming scored at the 38-minute mark in the first half, and sophomore forward Kyle Carter added two more goals in the second half to give the Golden Eagles the 3-0 win. NAIA Honorable Mention All American junior Pablo Fernandez had six saves as the Golden Eagles out shot their opponents 13 to 8. Senior Federico Suarez led the Golden Eagles in the assist category with 3, followed by sophomores Wesley Chase and Griff Hanning with one assist apiece.
The Golden Eagles will play at home on Tuesday when they host Bacone College at 3 p.m., and then will travel to Lyon College on Saturday to take on the Pipers.
