Siloam Springs, Ark (October 3, 2003) — “On My Journey” an exhibit of 18 recent pastel works by Charles Peer, professor of art at John Brown University, is coming to Van Buren, Ark. “I have a particular interest in color combinations that create a richness of surface, an inner glow or that make a painting ‘sing’”, Peer said. Peer’s vibrant colors he credits to his unique techniques, such as using lighter fluid and rubbing alcohol in combination with the pastels to make it possible for richer color to be achieved. Peer’s works can be viewed at the Center for Art & Education. The exhibit opens on Sunday, Oct. 5 at 1:00 p.m. A reception for Peer will he held from 1:00-4:00 p.m. The exhibit is open to the public from Oct. 5- Oct. 31, 2003.
