(October 14, 2003) - (Little Rock-AP) -- The state Capitol will have decorations this holiday season, but the display will be without Jennings Osborne's lights. Also, there will be no giant tree shipped in and lit on the Capitol lawn. The 75 smaller trees -- one from each Arkansas county -- will also be absent from the Capitol lawn. A spokeswoman for Secretary of State Charlie Daniels says the display will be more traditional than in the years that Osborne, a millionaire businessman, had a role in the decorations. Osborne said says he decided not to decorate the Capitol this year after problems cropped up last year. Osborne is a friend of Governor Huckabee. Osborne says his decision had nothing to do with Daniels defeating first lady Janet Huckabee in last year's election for secretary of state.
