Phillips Joins JBU Communications Staff

Siloam Springs, Ark (October 31, 2003) — John Brown University is excited to announce that Andrea Phillips has joined the communications team as the director of communications. Her position was effective Oct. 20, 2003. Phillips attended Texas Christian University and earned her bachelor’s degree in Radio-TV-Film. She received her master’s from Dallas Theological Seminary. In 1997, Phillips joined The Miller Company of Colleyville, Tex. serving as the creative director and brand consultant, working with Fortune 1,000 companies such as Verizon, Nokia, Hewlett Packard, American Airlines, Blockbuster and Sabre Holdings. Phillips work included writing, design, marketing, project management, brand management, publishing, management and leadership during her time at The Miller Company. Andrea has also served in various leadership and management positions with Christian organizations throughout Texas. At JBU, Phillips responsibilities for the office of university communication include advertising, marketing, image/brand management, public and media relations, printed materials, web and new media. In her free time, Andrea enjoys speaking with First Things First, a ministry she founded offering Biblical teaching for events and retreats. John Brown University is a private university with an enrollment of more than 1,800 students from 42 states and 45 countries.
