(November 17, 2003) - (Little Rock-AP) -- Legislators are to hold a batch of meetings this week as the deadline for the start of a special session on education is drawing nearer. Governor Huckabee says he'll call the session on December eighth - three weeks from today. Huckabee has moved to lower the minimum high school enrollment in his education overhaul plan. Critics are saying for the first time that the House might accept consolidation based on school size. For nearly a year, House members from rural Arkansas have blocked Huckabee's plan to trim the number of school districts to better afford court-ordered education reforms.
