Siloam Springs, Ark (November 24, 2003) - The music department at John Brown University is pleased to present the Instrumental Ensemble in concert Thursday, Dec. 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the Jones Recital Hall in the Cathedral of the Ozarks. The concert is free and open to the public. “We encourage the members of the community and surrounding area to come and enjoy a great night filled with classical music.” Teri R. Wubbena, director of the ensemble said. The chamber concert will feature violin, brass and flute quartets, as well as a flute quintet and a mixed quintet of woodwinds and a violin. Dr. Linda Beckman associate professor of music will accompany the violin quartet on two of their selections. The concert is a mixture of classical sounds along with the music of Christmas. Musicians will perform works by Bach, Mozart, and Schumann, among other composers. John Brown University is a top-tier university, ranked 11th by U.S. News & World Report in the Southern Region.
