Fernandez Earns Honorable Mention All-American

Siloam Springs, Ark. (December 8, 2003) — For the second year in a row, John Brown University junior goalkeeper Pablo Fernandez has been named to the NAIA Honorable Mention All-American team. Fernandez was previously selected to the 1st team Sooner Athletic Conference soccer team and also was a 1st team NAIA Region VI selection. Fernandez’s accomplishments this season as a goalkeeper for the Golden Eagles included allowing only 27 goals and recording 90 saves in 20 games.

Coach Bob Gustavson said, “Pablo’s excellent work ethic and athleticism have helped him achieve excellence as a goalkeeper and leader on the team. He has played tremendously all season and gives the team a high level of confidence that there will be solid goalkeeping no matter the opponent. I am proud of the honors he has received from the conference, region and national level.”
