(December 8, 2003) - (Little Rock-AP) -- Flu season has come early to Arkansas and hit with a vengeance. Officials at Arkansas Children's Hospital say they have counted 351 cases, more than 10 times normal for this time of year. Three Arkansans have died of flu complications. Doctor Robert Bradsher, an infectious disease specialist at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, says it's never too late to get a flu shot, even in the middle of an epidemic. Even though the public health departments are running low on the flu shot vaccine, Little Rock hospitals like Saint Vincent's and some primary care physicians say they have plenty of doses left at 15 dollars per shot.
