John Brown University had three players in double figures as freshman Ashley Wettengel and sophomore Kendra McCormick each ended the night with 12 points and junior Alicia Baer was right behind with 11 points. McCormick was also the leading rebounder for JBU with a total of 6 for the night.
“We had way too many breakdowns tonight to even stay close to them. They have a great tradition in women’s basketball and they sure put on a scoring exhibition tonight,” said JBU Coach Jeff Soderquist after the loss. “We are a better team than we played tonight and we now have to regroup for Saturday. With 22 turnovers against such a good team, we gave up too many opportunities.
JBU falls to 12-3 overall and 3-1 in Sooner Athletic Conference play. The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday in Shawnee, Oklahoma against St. Gregory’s University at 1:00 pm.
