TobyMac and Phil Vischer Headline Homecoming 2012
John Brown University welcomes special guests TobyMac and Phil Vischer as a part of the 2012 Homecoming celebration, expected to attract several thousand alumni, students, friends and fans.
Awakening Events presents TobyMac in concert with special guests Chris August and Jamie Grace on Friday, Oct. 5, at 7:30 p.m. in the Bill George Arena. TobyMac, who has five Grammy Awards and several GMA Dove Award nominations to his credit, has sold 11 million albums to date. The singer-songwriter has also been named BMI Songwriter of the Year for the fourth time and is the founder of Gotee Records. Phil Vischer, creator of “VeggieTales” and “Buck Denver Asks…What’s in the Bible?” will speak in the special Alumni Chapel on Friday, Oct. 5, at 10 a.m. in the Cathedral of the Ozarks. Almost 50 million VeggieTales videos have been purchased and can be found in one-third of all American homes with young children. He is also actively developing new ways to integrate faith and storytelling through his new creative shop, Jellyfish Labs.
SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. Other homecoming events include a talkback session with Phil Vischer, rugby, volleyball, soccer games and class reunion gatherings. Also, JBU’s student play “Sarah, Plain and Tall” will be at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and 2 p.m. on Saturday in the Berry Performing Arts Center.
