Engaged Couple Seminar Coming to Bentonville

Siloam Springs, Ark. (October 6, 2009) – NWA Healthy Marriages, a community service of the Center for Relationship Enrichment (CRE), will offer a seminar for engaged couples on Saturday, Oct. 17, 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Clarion Hotel in Bentonville. The event is $29 per couple and reservations are required.

The focus of the training is to learn how to better communicate, resolve conflict, and how to lay the foundation for a healthy, lifelong marriage. Those attending the seminar will also receive a personal couples’ assessment report and a discussion guide for ongoing couple interaction. Attending this event also qualifies engaged couples for a covenant marriage license, if married in the state of Arkansas.

“Couples who complete a premarital training course like the one offered by Northwest Arkansas Healthy Marriages are 80% more likely to stay together than couples who receive no training,” said Jackson Dunn, Premarital Program Coordinator for Northwest Arkansas Healthy Marriages.

The seminar is for couples of all ages that are engaged, thinking about becoming engaged, or in the early stages of a relationship. The focus of the training is on learning how to better communicate, resolve conflict, and how to lay the foundation for a healthy, lifelong marriage.

Northwest Arkansas Healthy Marriages was created by the Center for Relationship Enrichment thanks to a 5 year grant from the federal government to help improve the marriages in Northwest Arkansas.

Northwest Arkansas Healthy Marriages provides training both for premarital couples as well as married couples through training events, and small group opportunities.
