Ed Ericson

Ed Ericson

Dr. Ericson has served as the Vice President for Academic Affairs since 2002. He supervises undergraduate, degree completion, and graduate programs as well as the library, registrar, athletic, and institutional research functions of the university.

He received a Ph.D. in 1996 and master's in history in 1989 from Indiana University and earned his bachelor's degree in history from Calvin College in 1987.

Dr. Ericson came to JBU in 1994 as an instructor of history, specializing in diplomatic and military history, and is known for his use of historical simulations as learning tools. He has since served as Chair of the History/Political Science Department, Chair of the Division of Social and Behavior Studies, Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies and the Dean of Undergraduate Studies. Prior to coming to JBU, he was an instructor of history at Calvin College.

Dr. Ericson and his wife, Julie, enjoy sports, traveling, and art.
