Commencement

Regalia

Students are to dress appropriately, however, formal dress is not required. Students are not allowed to wear any clothing/items on the outside of their gown other than JBU-issued medals and or cords. Students are not allowed to alter or modify their cap (mortarboard).

Tassels
Students will wear their tassel on the right side of the mortarboard and switch to the left side when prompted by President Pollard during the commencement ceremony.

Stoles, Medals and Cords
Honors Program stoles and Greek organization cords,  Latin Honors medals and With Distinction tassels will be worn during the ceremony. Traditional Undergraduate students will receive their Honors Program stoles and Greek organization cords from the respective directors.  Students graduating with Latin Honors or With Distinction may stop by the Registrar's Office beginning April 29, 2013 to pick up their Latin Honors medals and/or With Distinction tassel.
